PLACA DANOSA BT MINIONDA (2000x955) is a bituminous sheet with a wavy shape. Composed of mineral and vegetable fibres saturated with a bituminous emulsion at high temperatures. There is no asbestos or toxic materials in its composition, so it is completely harmless to health.

Scope

  • BT Mediterraneo slab: under curved tile with a mouth width between 18.5 and 22 cm.
  • BT Minionda slab: under flat, mixed, concrete tile with slats.
  • Protection under roof tiles.

Advantages & Benefits

  • High resistance to compression, allowing foot traffic.
  • High longitudinal strength, helps to support the weight of the roof.
  • Provides double waterproofing, creating a totally waterproof lower structure on the roof.
  • Easy application.
  • Light.
  • It is not necessary to use mortar for laying.
  • Allows an air flow between the support/plate/tiles, avoiding condensation.
  • Resistant to climatic changes.

Support

  • Continuous concrete supports.
  • Continuous wooden supports.
  • Continuous mortar supports.
  • Discontinuous supports of wooden battens.

Instruction for Use

  • PLACA DANOSA BT MINIONDA (2000×955) is used with battens under flat, mixed and concrete tiles.
  • PLACA DANOSA BT MINIONDA (2000×955) is used on continuous concrete, ceramic and wood supports (wood decking, wood agglomerate, sandwich panel, etc…) and discontinuous wood battens.
  • The panels are installed from the eaves to the ridge and in the opposite direction to the prevailing winds.
  • The boards are mechanically fixed to the support. The nail shall always be fixed in the ridge of the wave. The type of fixing depends on the type of support.
  • The recommended slope is between 10 and 70 %.
  • Plate to plate overlaps: Lateral, two waves. Transversal, 15 cm, except in the case of slopes of less than 20 %, which shall be 30 cm.
  • Before fixing the battens, there shall be 4 fixings per board, coinciding with the corners.
  • The fixings shall be 7 cm from the edge of the board and shall coincide with the overlap between boards.
  • The horizontal battens shall be spaced according to the type of tile. They shall be fixed at a maximum distance of 40 cm (8 waves) across the tile in the ridge area.
  • If thermal insulation is used, DANOPREN is placed between the substrate and the tile, and the fixing must pass through the assembly until it is anchored to the substrate.
  • In renovation work or for the cladding of existing roofs (on fibre cement boards, for example), 60 x 60 mm wooden battens are fixed perpendicular to the ridge (perpendicular to the line of maximum slope), which will form the supporting framework on which the under-tile boards will be installed. The distance between these battens will depend on the type of tile. The weight of the tile shall be on the battens and not on the tiles. The PVC battens on which the tiles rest will be fixed to these battens.
  • It is important to control the overloads of use, snow (if applicable) and the actions of the wind when deciding on the amount and distribution of these battens, always taking into account the standards that regulate the construction of the structure supporting the tiles.
  • The installation of PLACA DANOSA BT MINIONDA (2000×955) is not recommended at temperatures below 1º C.
  • At the eaves, the panel will overhang by 2 cm (maximum overhang of 5 cm).
  • The joints between walls and skirts, and the reinforcements at the eaves, ridge, gable ends and singular points will be solved with CINTA AUTOADHESIVA SELF-DAN.

Indications and Important Recommendations

  • The panels shall always be laid in the direction of the lower corner of the roof and in the opposite direction to the prevailing winds.
  • Do not obstruct the ventilation channels between the eaves and the ridge to prevent frost formation and thermal changes.
  • Installation at temperatures below 1°C is not recommended.
  • It is always recommended to fix the tiles in place, although on slopes between 15 and 30% it is not necessary.
