Introducing: POLYDAN PRO NOx

Clean air is something all living things need to survive. However, it’s human activity itself that changes the atmosphere, worsening the quality of air by introducing substances that harm health. Among these substances are Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), considered one of the most unhealthy greenhouse gasses.

Therefore, reducing air pollution caused by traffic, industry and energy production in urban environments is challenging for all. From the construction industry we can help by incorporating materials that decontaminate the air in our buildings. For that reason, Danosa has created a range of products and systems with the objective of making flat roofs decontaminants.

During its manufacturing process, our NOx range incorporates a latest-technology photocatalyst that’s activated by solar radiation and eliminates nitrogen oxides in the air. The NOx range does this by decomposing the Nitrogen Oxides into non-toxic by-products that are washed away by the rain.

Benefits of the NOx range for the environment:

Reduced levels of contamination thanks to foil waterproofing and the filter slab decontaminants.

Reduction of emissions of CO2 by reducing the need for heating/air conditioning.

Reduction of the island effect of urban heat.

Contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 11 and 13 for combating climate change.

Benefits for you:

Thermal insulation reduces energy consumption through heating or air conditioning.

System suitable for the re-use of bituminous roofs

Reflects sunlight.

Highly durable.

A 1000m^2 NOx roof neutralises pollution from 500 cars.

Over 65% of surfaces in a city are terraces and rooftops.

NOx products:

POLYDAN PRO NOx Sheets

These are high-performance bituminous sheets for waterproofing roofs that continually reduce Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) in the air, turning them into by-products that are washed away by rainwater.

Our POLYDAN® PRO NOx sheets are manufactured with a photocatalytic coating on the white slate granule that has a solar reflectance index (SRI) of 35. These sheets can be part of a monolayer or bilayer system. In a multilayer system, the bottom sheet may be a self-adhesive sheet, bonded or mechanically fixed.

DANOLOSA White Insulated NOx Slab

An insulating tile made up of a photocatalytic white porous pavement concrete, which acts as protection to the polystyrene insulating base, resulting in a resistant and thermally insulated solution. DANOLOSA is energy saving, walkable and it protects the waterproofing of the roof. The purification yield value of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from DANOLOSA® NOx is greater than 8%, corresponding to a Class 3 according to the UNE 127197-1 standard.
