Maximise Building Performance with DANOSA’s Inverted Roof Solutions

When it comes to flat roofs, inverted roof systems stand out as a preferred choice due to their remarkable energy efficiency, moisture resistance, and easy installation. As a leading manufacturer of inverted roof solutions, DANOSA offers an extensive range of high-quality materials, fully supported by a proficient Technical Team and single point warranties for the entire system.

What is an inverted roof?
An inverted roof is a roofing system characterised by its unique construction, where the typical arrangement of insulation and waterproofing layers is reversed or “inverted.” In this innovative design, the insulation layer is placed above the waterproofing layer, effectively protecting it from external elements such as UV radiation, temperature fluctuations, and mechanical stresses. This setup enhances the durability and longevity of the waterproofing membrane, while also offering exceptional thermal performance and moisture resistance. Inverted roofs are particularly well-suited for flat and low-sloped roofs, where water drainage and insulation efficiency are crucial considerations. By strategically placing the insulation on top, an inverted roof minimises the risk of thermal bridging and interstitial condensation, resulting in energy-efficient structures that can withstand the challenges of diverse climatic conditions.

Insulation
Our DANOPREN XPS is a rigid thermal insulation board crafted from extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam, manufactured without CFC, HFC, or HCFC compounds. This insulation serves as an exceptional thermal solution for zero-fall, flat, and pitched roofs, as well as floor and underground constructions.

The DURADAN XPS thermal insulation boasts significant advantages, including outstanding energy efficiency, exceptional compressive strength, and remarkable moisture resistance. Its ease of installation and versatility in various roofing applications make it an ideal choice for discerning customers. Moreover, its eco-friendliness shines through as the XPS SL is 100% recyclable. In a previous article, we’ve covered all the key performance points of DANOPREN XPS.

Waterproofing
When it comes to inverted roofs, DANOSA’s DURADAN waterproofing system is second to none. It features a high-quality elastomeric bitumen, hot-bonded to the substrate, incorporating fleece within the DURADAN HOT MELT system. For hot-melt applications, DURADAN blocks must be heated to temperatures ranging from 160°C to 180°C before application.

Why Choose Danosa?

DANOPREN XPS stands out with its EPD and BBA certifications, confirming the high standards across all its variants. Being a proficient manufacturer of insulation and waterproofing solutions, we design and supply the full system. Our DURADAN systems not only excel in performance, but also come with the added advantage of a single point system warranty, extending up to an impressive 35 years of coverage.
