DANOPUR HT

Liquid membrane for waterproofing and protection of roofs and buried structures

Product variations:
Waterproofing
DANOPUR HT is a single-component, cold-applied, seamless, highly elastic, liquid polyurethane membrane that reacts with moisture and activates its curing process. Resistant to root penetration and easy to apply. Used for waterproofing and protection. Versatile membrane due to the wide variety of possible applications as part of DANOPUR liquid waterproofing systems.

Scope

  • Waterproofing of balconies and terraces.
  • Waterproofing of bathrooms, kitchens and swimming pools before final coating.
  • Waterproofing of garden roofs.
  • Waterproofing of accessible roofs (pedestrian and vehicles).
  • Underground wall waterproofing.
  • Roof waterproofing
  • Waterproofing and protection of concrete constructions (bridges, carparks, stadium bleachers, etc.

Advantages & Benefits

  • High elasticity >800% and crack bridging.

Instruction for Use

  • METAL/Steel: Metal surfaces must be prepared by sandblasting at SA 2.5. To remove oil and grease, solvent cleaning must be carried out. DANOPRIMER® PU or DANOPRIMER® PU2K primer must be applied in case of mechanical anchoring by silica aggregate dusting. Apply the primer at the latest 8 hours after sandblasting to avoid oxidation of the surface.
  • ASPHALTIC SHEETS/BITUMINOUS COATINGS: The entire surface must be cleaned to remove loose or poorly adhering particles, dust and other sediments. The film must be glued to the substrate or mechanically fixed. Do not apply on sticky or poorly adhered bituminous coating. On this type of substrate must be applied primer
  • DANOPRIMER PU2K.
Tools : Roller, brush or airless spraying equipment.Preparation of the product: Shake for at least 1 minute with a mechanical shaker until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.Environmental conditions for application: Ambient/substrate temperature between 5 to 35°C. Relative humidity < 80%. Relative humidity < 80%. Waterproofing work must not be carried out when weather conditions may be detrimental (when it is snowing or there is snow or ice on the roof; when it is raining or the roof is wet).Method of application: Roof waterproofing: In the case of very porous substrates, to facilitate perfect adhesion to the substrate, a coat of DANOPRIMER® EP primer must be applied. Once the primer has dried (approximately 6-8 hours, applied at 23ºC and 50% RH), apply two or three coats of DANOPUR® HT. In the second layer, still wet, apply the PET50 reinforcement (the overlap of this reinforcement should be between 5 and 10 cm). Once dry, seal with one to two coats of DANOPUR® HT. Always reinforce the surface with PET50 reinforcement, especially in problematic areas such as half pipes, chimneys, pipes, siphons, etc. If PET50 reinforcement is not used, we recommend applying three coats.
  • TOTAL CONSUMPTION
Waterproofing: 1.4 to 2.5 kg/m2 applied in two or three coats.Tools: Roller, brush, rubber trowel or airless spraying equipment.Checking environmental conditions: Ambient/substrate temperature between 5 to 35ºC. Relative humidity < 80%. Waterproofing work must not be carried out when weather conditions may be detrimental (when it is snowing or there is snow or ice on the roof; when it is raining or the roof is wet).Product preparation: Stir for at least 1 minute with a mechanical stirrer until homogeneous mixture is obtained. Membrane application. A coat of DANOPRIMER® primer must be applied according to the type of substrate to promote adhesion of the membrane. Respecting the curing times of the primer, apply three coats of DANOPUR® HT. Always reinforce the singular points, such as vertical and horizontal wall junctions, areas where the substrate changes, junctions with drains, etc. It is recommended to reinforce with PET50 polyester reinforcement over the entire surface. In the first layer, still in a damp state, place the PET50 reinforcement (the overlap of this reinforcement should be between 5 and 10 cm) and leave it to soak in. After a minimum of 12 hours and a maximum of 48 hours apply the second coat of DANOPUR® HT and for more demanding end-use roofs apply a third coat of DANOPUR® HT. Do not apply coats thicker than 0.6 mm. If a colourfast finish is desired, apply one or two coats of DANOPUR® LT over the DANOPUR® HT membrane. DANOPUR® HT is slippery when wet. To avoid this, it is recommended to sprinkle DANOQUARTZ SP49 silica aggregate on the last coat of the system to achieve a slip resistant surface. DANOPUR® HT is not recommended for use in direct contact with treated or chlorinated water.

Warning

  • Consult the safety data sheet.
  • Contains isocyanates.
  • Dispose of contents/container with all possible precautions.
  • Read the label before use.
  • Do not apply layers thicker than 0.6 mm.
  • Waterproofing work must not be carried out when weather conditions may be detrimental, in particular in situations of snow, ice, rain or strong wind.
  • Slippery if wet. To avoid this, spread suitable aggregates on the still-wet membrane to achieve a slip-resistant surface.
  • If a colourfast finish is desired, apply one or two coats over the DANOPUR HT membrane.

Handling, storage and preservation

  • 9 months.
  • The container must be stored upside down, with the lid resting on the shelf or support.

Cleaning of Work Tools

Cleaning diluent. Clean all application tools and equipment immediately after use with diluent.
