ABSORDAN PREN 80

Flexible polyurethane foam agglomerate panel for thermal acoustic insulation

Product variations:
Acoustic Insulation
Flexible polyurethane foam agglomerate with high acoustic and thermal insulation properties. ABSORDAN PREN 80 works acoustically as an absorbent and anti-resonant panel against airborne noise, achieving the highest acoustic performance. Ideal for refurbishment and DIY due to its easy installation. In new construction it meets the highest acoustic requirements. The format of the product is designed to optimise its use in plasterboard solutions, thus reducing installation time and product surplus. Made from 100% recycled materials.

Scope

  • Complements sound insulation as an absorbent in places where mechanical resistance is required in air chambers and wall cladding in buildings, industrial buildings, etc.
  • Thermal insulation in vertical solutions and false ceilings.
  • Between metallic elements as an absorbent in a chamber.
  • Reform or rehabilitation of vertical walls that require an improvement in acoustic and thermal performance with direct fixing using ABSORDAN® GLUE contact adhesive.

Advantages & Benefits

  • Being highly permeable, it is neither hydrophilic nor hygroscopic.
  • Chemically unactive, meaning it cannot cause or encourage microbial growth or the appearance of metal corrosion.
  • Its lightness and format facilitates its speed of installation, which improves labour efficiency.
  • As an acoustic absorber, ABSORDAN® PREN 80 prevents the “drum effect” due to reverberation in the chamber, improving acoustic insulation.
  • The thermal resistance offered by the product makes it ideal as thermal insulation with the consequent energy savings.
  • Product easy to handle for the installer or private customer.
  • Easy cutting and handling of the product.
  • Direct fixing using ABSORDAN® GLUE.
  • Indicated for fast and clean execution works.
  • Product made with 100% recycled materials.

Instruction for Use

For direct solutions on the substrate:
  • Clean the chipboard from dust and dirt with a cloth.
  • Make sure that the substrate is stable, the surface material is not detached and dust-free by wiping it with a cloth.
  • Spread ABSORDAN GLUE on one side of ABSORDAN PREN 80 according to performance.
  • Apply ABSORDAN GLUE continuously on the substrate.
  • Place the ABSORDAN PREN 80 panel on the side primed with adhesive and press it from one side until it is completely fixed on the entire surface.
  • Apply a layer of ABSORDAN GLUE on the unprimed side
  • seen by the applicator towards the inside of the room
  • according to the performance.
  • Spread ABSORDAN GLUE over the inner side of the plasterboard covering the entire surface.
  • Present the plasterboard in front of the previously primed side of the ABSORDAN PREN 80 already in place and press for optimum adhesion.
  • Press for a few moments until the board is perfectly adhered.
*For better acoustic performance, it is recommended not to lay the panels directly on the horizontal screed, but to seal them afterwards with elastic sealant. For chamber solutions:
  • Cut the panels with a fine cutting element
  • cutter type
  • according to the profile layout.
  • ABSORDAN PREN 80 has a 1.20m wide format to reduce losses to a minimum.
  • For setting out 40 cm profiles, three longitudinal strips are obtained per sheet.
  • For setting out 60 cm profiles, two longitudinal strips are obtained per sheet.
  • Insert the previously cut product between the profiles, finishing the solution according to the usual panel installation procedure.

Indications and Important Recommendations

  • The products must always be installed dry and free of dust.
  • The use of other adhesives other than ABSORDAN GLUE will be specified directly by the manufacturer.
  • In the case of solving curved solutions, such as rounded pillars or embracing other systems, it is always recommended to reinforce their fixation with mechanical elements or taping.

Warning

  • Store in a dry place, protected from rain, sun, high and low temperatures.

Handling, storage and preservation

  • No personal protection is required during transportation and handling.
  • Store the product in a dry place away from inclement weather.
  • When handling with sharp elements, take the necessary precautions in handling.
  • Stable product at room temperature, degradable with direct exposure to high temperatures.
  • In all cases, the Occupational Safety and Hygiene standards, as well as the standards of good construction practice, must be taken into account.
